It is strength that is controlled; like the crashing of an ocean wave on the beach which then comes up to tickle our toes. — Bp. Bruce Evans of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The songs recorded for Made by Hand were played in their simplest form finger-picked (played by hand), with a single-voice melody. This collection of songs reflects a range of experiences within the Christian faith. Please rate/review and buy. :)———The Lord said, “Go to Ninevah,”But Jonah chose to fleeAnd took a sailingShip across the seaAnd there he hid below the decksNot one among the crewHad any knowledgeThat Jonah was a JewThe storm was raging overheadThe waves were crashing inThe sailor’s prayersWere drowning in the dinPoor Jonah was discoveredAn omen in their eyesThat they should sufferA Hebrew in disguiseJonah, JonahWhere you running to?Don’t you know thatGod will follow youTo the ends of the earthHe will follow youHe will follow youJonah, JonahWhat was that you’ve said?Aren’t you reallyWishing to be deadTo the love of the LordWhat he wants for youWhat he wants for youThe captain asked, “What shall we do?We wish our lives to keep!”Said Jonah, “Throw me Into the briny deep.”They feared his blood was innocentAnd on their heads would beThe dreadful onusOf acting out the deedThe sailors rowed with all their mightThey failed against the windWhen all was lostThey thew poor Jonah inAnd as he plunged into the wavesThe hurricane was throughThe sailors knelt and prayedTo the God that Jonah knewI am cast outSubmerged in doubtBut if I prayAnd turn aboutMy God delivers meMy God delivers meAnd from the belly of a whalePrayed Jonah day and nightThe Lord was wellAware of Jonah’s plightFor soon the whale had spit him outHe lay upon the sandA sailor saved By God’s almighty handI was cast outSubmerged in doubtBut when I prayAnd turn aboutMy God delivers meMy God delivers meOh, my God delivers me
